The Bond-Based Alliance

The Bond-Based Alliance (The Alliance) is a coalition of individuals and organizations united in the belief that dogs asked to work in service to mankind must be held to highest of certification standards and afforded the education, care, and handling necessary to meet and maintain such standards. Individuals and organizations who meet our accreditation requirements are eligible for membership and benefits offered thereto.

Ethical Guidelines:
We believe the ethical obligations involved in educating and placing service and community service dogs are three-fold:

1. To ensure the safety of the public in the presence of the dog.
2. To ensure the dog has the skills and characteristics necessary
to successfully perform his/her given task(s).
3. To ensure that the dog is and remains mentally and physically well.

We further believe that the first two of these ethical obligations can be met only by meeting the third. Therefore, our focus must be on the education, evaluation and care of the dog so he/she may safely, effectively, and happily perform in his/her given role.
